Truth is stranger than fiction

Well, sure hope this guy learned his lesson. When the wife gets down to about a 12-pack, he should make a beer run.

Go check out a southern boy...the Funniest Man in America.

Things are slow. More later.

Filibuster This...

Having seen, read, and heard all the hoopla regarding the substantial resignations coming from the Supreme Court, the folks in power are in quite a take. The left has already stated that anyone thought to be “extreme” would be filibustered, and the right would have a huge fight on their hands.

Looking at the choices that are available, being honest about the situation, there is not a lot of hope for true conservatives to even get a foot in the door of the SCOTUS. So, with those thoughts in mind, let’s look at how things would be if King Solomon, the son of David, the former King of Israel, were brought before the Senate for the nomination of Chief Justice to the Supreme Court. Things should get really interesting.

The libs have claimed to want a "judge with a big heart." Last time I checked, a big heart was not a major qualification to become a Justice of that particular court...or any other courts, for that matter. No, what the libs would prefer would be someone who would screw the constitution, have them "make laws" that would permit anything akin to whining, screaming, lying, cheating, stealing, and pandering to every outcast society holds.

I am so sick of both political parties. Neither are of any particular use to the country. The Dems are always over the top, but they do stick together. On the other hand, the Pubs are always caving to the demands of their opponents, and have yet to show any backbone. The present administration has a golden opportunity to finally reset the course of the country via the Supreme Court nominations but, yet, not a peep on what they have in mind.

Of course, we all hear how "well, this time Bush will really step up to the plate." Yea, right. Personally, I'd like to see him step up the the plate regarding more than the Supreme Court deal. I'd like to see him stop pandering to illegals, stop pandering to Palestine, stop pandering to the Saudis, stop wasting money overseas, stop acting like a damned Democrat.

Those familiar with the Bible story of Solomon, regarding the two women who both claimed to be the mother of the same child. Some thought he was nuts because he told the pair to cut the child in half, and each could have a total portion. In all his wisdom, Solomon knew the real mother would not allow that because of the woman's love for her child. If the left were presented the same sort of choice, I feel somehow they would find another way to "eminent domain" in regards to the child. Yes, Solomon had a big heart but he also had wisdom.

By today's standards, Solomon would be considered very extreme... and to the right. After all, he did serve his God. And he was blessed by his God. Solomon had tremendous wealth, but not because he kept begging and praying for it. His utmost desire was for God to grant him wisdom. And God did just that. As a little bonus the wealth was thrown in. Solomon would be called a radical and would be considered part of the religious right, (as opposed to the sacreligious left?). He wouldn't stand a chance, because he would strive to do what was genuinely right... not polically correct. He would take a stand. He would not be an appeaser nor would he be a yes man. He would be a fine choice for Chief Justice. After all, what harm would it bring to the country to actually have an honest and Godly man on the bench?

But, of course, there will be some who will argue! To them I say... bring it!

What if

I read here that Rummy would be the Grand Marshall for the Pepsi 400. Wouldn't it be cool if he gave the command "Gentlemen...Bring it on" instead of the "gentlemen, start your engines?" Honestly, what do you think?
